Introduction 

This module includes an overview of sutures, scalpels, staplers, and other classified sharps that are commonly used in the operating room. Sharps injuries are a significant concern for healthcare providers in the OR. Sharps’s safety is critical to creating and promoting a safe operating room environment for the entire team and patient. Understanding the proper techniques and use for sharps, allows for efficient and safer patient care.
